Self treatment for dry eye syndrome

Dry eye syndrome is the most common cause that leads a patient to seek quick relief from symptoms in a pharmacy. The aim of the article is to define dry eye syndrome, distinguish it from other eye diseases and provide guidance in choosing appropriate products or over-the-counter remedies. As part of comprehensive care for a patient with dry eye syndrome in a pharmacy, an overview of nutritional and dietary measures that can be offered by a pharmacist and a pharmaceutical assistant is also provided.
