Overview
Drug‑induced systemic lupus erythematodes (SLE) is a relatively rare complicati on associ ated with certain drug therapi es. Its onset comes after months or ye ars of taking the drug, and the probability of its incidence grows with the length of medicati on and the cumulative dose of the drug. Among the symptoms of the syndrome are mainly artralgi a, myalgi a, fever, serositides, skin exanthema and the producti on of antinucle ar (ANA) antibodi es. Unlike SLE, its symptoms subside gradu ally after the withdrawal of the provoking agent. The a uthors report a case of a 43 - ye ar old woman pati ent with multiple cerebrospinal sclerosis who developed drug‑induced SLE after eight ye ars of interferon beta‑1b therapy.
