Overview

Cerebellar mutism is a rare complicati on after posteri or fossa surgery, it typically appe ars in pati ents in childho od and is usu ally transi ent. The pathophysi ology behind cerebellar mutism still remains uncle ar. The a uthors present a case study of cerebellar mutism after resecti on of a medulloblastoma of the cerebellar vermis, it has not been published in Czech literature yet. The aim of o ur case report is to call attenti on to this interesting disorder and to summarize present findings on the mechanisms of development of cerebellar mutism.

Key words:
cerebellar mutism –  cerebellar vermis –  medulloblastoma
