Overview

Our publication deals with data obtained from recently published literature in situation releasing the high sensitivity (hs) cTn methods on the market after their FDA clearance. These methods are 10 - 100x more analytically sensitive and lead to a large increase of quantitative results in reference population. Due to increased analytical sensitivity emerged problems with interpretation of sex and age influences on diagnostic limits, using new units, timing of sample collection, necessity of reduction used cardiac markers in routine diagnostic process.

Keywords:
Cardiac troponins, hs methods, universal definition of acute my cardial infarction, role of sex, reference population.
