Revaccination against tetanus at traumatology outpatient clinic

Overview

The AIM of the paper is to inform health workers at traumatology outpatient clinics and other health workers about possibility of detection of protective level of antibodies against tetanus by quick diagnostic test.

The INTRODUCTION is dealing with problems connected with care of injured patiens at traumatology outpatient clinics in sense of proper evaluation of tetanus vaccination history.

Tests of quick detection of tetanus antibodies are based on immunochromatographic detection and are supplied by many pharmaceutical companies.

DISCUSSION presents several publications where effectivity of quick diagnostic tests for tetanus antibodies have been verified. At he same time the situation in the Czech Republic is described.

CONCLUSION underlines the need for the introduction of quick diagnostic test for detection of protective level of tetanus antibodies into the routine practice in the Czech Republic.
