Overview
The authors analyze the problem of back pain during statical overburdening of the locomotor apparatus by sitting, i.e. the most frequent working position. Based on contemporary scientific knowledge and their own experience the authors recommend alternation of the least tiring - relieving sedentary positions (Brugger s, Mandal s, on a kneeling stool) and relaxing sitting positions ( yoga sitting positions with supported head, crossed leg) and they emphasize the need of their dynamiza - tion. As a suitable means of dynamization of the sitting position they present a PC cushion which in particular in Brugger s and Mandal s sitting position makes it necessary to involve to a maximum extent autochthonous muscles of the spine, the dysfunction of which plays a significant role in the pathogenesis of vertebrogenic syndromes.
