Summary:
The authors analysed a problem with increased number of patients with local complications of chronic tonsillitis, particularly paratonsillar inflammation, recently.
The period of establishing a correct diagnosis after the first symptoms had appeared, treatment and a kind of administered antibiotics during 2002-2004 were compared. In comparison to results of a previous study (1988-1997) an increase of number of patients with paratonsillar inflammation was found. The data have been used as conclusion for improvement of this situation.Key words:
