Overview
The authors describe three cases of juvenile angiofibroma of the nasopharynx in malepatients aged nine, fourteen thirty-four years. The disease was manifested by longstanding nasalobstruction and in two patients by severe relapsing epistaxis. The diagnosis was established on thebasis of CT, angiographic and histological examination. One patient had before surgery medicamen-tous pre-treatment with diethylstilboestrol which caused substantial reduction of the vasculariza-tion and volume of the tumour. In all three patients complete extirpation of the tumour wasperformed. In the discussion contemporary views regarding the diagnosis, preoperative preparati-on and treatment of juvenile angiofibroma of the nasopharynx are given.
