Support of rational pharmacotherapy and medical insurance companies – theory and practice

Overview
For the optimization of prescription it is useful to provide the physicians the feedback by means of prescription assessment. The assessment if based on a statistical processing of the prescription data, which is capable of identification of certain pharmacotherapy problems in individual physicians. The article presents well-arranged information about the support of rational pharmacotherapy, the way of intervention of health insurance companies and draws attention to some obstacles of such intervention.
