Nutrigenetika a nutrigenomika

Podle zpráv WHO ovlivňují dietní faktory významně výskyt více než 2/3 onemocnění. Jde zejména o vlivy zahrnované dnes pod pojmy nutrigenetika a nutrigenomika. Jako nutrigenetika je označována věda zabývající se individuálními odlišnostmi v reakci na dietu podmíněnými geneticky. Nutrigenomika se zabývá úlohou složek výživy v expresi genů. V přehledu jsou tyto pojmy vysvětleny. Jejich význam je ukázán na příkladech vysvětlujících rozdílné výskyty chorob v populacích a na příkladu interakce dietních vlivů a genomu u hypertenze, aterosklerózy a nádorových onemocnění. V budoucnu nutrigenetika a nutrigenomika zcela jistě zásadně ovlivní preventivní i klinickou medicínu.
