Overview

Virus SARS-CoV-2 is a cause pathogen of covid-19 disease. The age represents an independent risk factor for prognosis. A key role play immunosenescence and cumulating comorbidities. In relation to covid-19 infection should be highlighted factors such as weakening of mucosal barrier, decreased response to Toll-like receptors stimulation, NK cells decline with limited interferon gamma production, deterioration of specific immunity to new antigenic challenge and leaning towards more intensive proinflammatory response.

Keywords:

COVID-19 – immunosenescence –
aging – ACE2
