Overview
Obstruction caused by benign prostatic hyper plasia can be treated by several surgical techniques Especially for larger prostates, alternatives to open surgery and conventional transurethral resection are sought, as these methods are associated with significant morbidity and often require blood trans fusions In recent years, there has been develop ment in enucleation techniques using lasers or bipolar energy This text summarizes the latest f indings and experiences with bipolar transurethral enucleation of the prostate (B‑TUEP) and compares this method with other surgical procedures
