Overview

Immunofluorescence methods have been used in medical research and diagnostics for more than 50 years. In dermatology, direct and indirect immunofluorescence methods are mainly used in diagnostics of immunobullous and connective tissue diseases. The review summarizes the basic diagnostic possibilities and common findings in  these disesases, and other uses, including modern applications of immunofluorescence methods.

Key words:
immunofluorescence – dermatology – bullous dermatoses – connective tissue disorders –methods
