Lymphogranuloma Venereum: in the Czech Republic Already?

Overview
The aim of the article is to call attention to the possibility of appearance of lymphogranuloma venereum in the Czech Republic in coincidence with an epidemic rise in Western Europe since 2003. The suspected diagnosis was not confirmed in the presented clinical case, however, it brought up questions about our laboratory diagnostic possibilities. It is important to think of lymphogranuloma venereum, especially in men who have sexual intercourse with men, travel to big European cities, with clinical findings including proctocolitis. The described case with painful genital ulcers and lymphadenopathy reminded, nowadays less common, clinical manifestation of this disease. In the end we introduce an examination protocol recommendation for the differential diagnostics of genital ulcers.
