Summary: In 1997-1999 the authors performed a epidemiological survey of 12-year-old children in some districts of the Slovak Republic. All information was collected using standardized methods recommended by WHO. For determination of the caries incidence they used DMFT index. In addition they analysed DMFT in different districts of the Slovak Republic. The lowest DMFT score was found in the city Košice (DMFT = 3,13) and the best dental health care of schoolchildren was in the town Dolný Kubín (RI = 0,9).
