Stomatitis in Patients after Autologous Transplan-tation of Haematopoietic Stem Cells

The authors investigated in a prospective study 70 patients with haematoonco-logical diseases, who had an autologous transplantation of haematopoietic stem cells, theeffectivity of previous defocization. 70 % of the patient suffered from stomatitis. The radicalityof dental treatment was sufficient to prevent the development of complications in the oralcavity. Stomatitis lasted on average one week and correlated with the period of severeneutropenia.
