New Therapeutic Methods in Orofacial BoneDefects

Overview
This article reviews the method of Guided Bone Regeneration. This method wasderived from the biological principle of Guided Tissue Regeneration. There is new therapeuticconcept for the regeneration of bone defects caused by restriction of the root apex, osteotomyor cystectomy. Other suitable indications occur in periodontology, oral implantology, and incase of alveolar crest astrophy – augmentation. The most suitable biomaterials used in thisprocess are reabsorbable collagen Bio-Gide membranes and natural bone mineral Bio-Oss. Thiscombination of materials has been used by the authors to stimulate the repair of bone defectsfor several years, and it gives a favourable results.
