Overview

In the treatment of posttraumatic stress disorders, different pharmacological and psychotherapeuticalmethods are used. Clinical experience shows, that symptoms of the disorder are oftenresistant to treatment. It can be difficult to change the patient’s attitude to the traumatic event.The authors of the presented work report about their experience with the use of thiopentalsubnarcosis (narcoanalysis) in two patients with this disorder. Using repeated dialogues underthiopental subnarcosis, they succeded to strenghten the therapeutic relation and to change dramaticallythe attitude to the traumatic event in one of the patients.
