Commencing with 1 January 2000, law No. 157/98 of the Coll. in the wording of law 352/99 of theColl., government orders No. 25/99 of the Coll., 258/2001 of the collection, and other implementationregulations based on the regulations and directives of the European Community have been validfor the handling of chemical substances and preparations in the Czech Republic. The present paperdiscusses and comments on the parts of the law which are important for the management andrunning of the establishments engaged in the synthesis or analysis of drugs. It further lists examplesof highly toxic chemical substances which can occur at these establishments.
