Carcinoma of the Meibomian gland of the eyelid is very rare with atypicalglandular features, that may appear initially as a chalazion formation and theninvades the neighbouring tissues.PURPOSE:Demonstration of the importance of surgical excision and histological examinationin presence of an apparently harmless tumoral alteration of the eyelids andverifiyng every case of atypical lesion of the eyelid region.Case presentation No. 1: We report a case of 76-year old woman patient sufferingfrom chronical blepharoconjunctivitisandchronical chalazionmanytimes simplyperformed excochleation. Histopathological finding of the excision of the tumourshowedthepresence of carcinomaMeibomiangland(stageG2),the patient refusedexenteration and died in 2 month interval.Case presentation No. 2.: 65-year old men with carcinoma linguae 1.sin. (T3 N2 M0)in 1998 after hemiglossectomia, resectionem baseos oris 1.sin. and radiotherapy,came to our clinic with exoftalm and tumor in his right orbit in Jun 2001. CTfound tumour 3x2x2cm. In September 2001 orbitotomia bicoronalis 1.sin., extirpatioTU orbitae 1.sin. histologically verified karcinoma of Meibomain gland,patient without any problems after operation and radiotherapy.
