Of 110 patients where beforesurgery from the conjunctival sac pathogenic microorganisms were cultivated, after 7 days following administration of the drops in 105 patients the finding wasnegative. The marked effect on staphylococci was remarkable. During the posto-perative period, in particular after operations of the cornea, a positive prophy-lactic effect was found and the authors did not observe any effect on healing ofthe surgical wounds or epithelization of the cornea.
