Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis in a Palliative Hospice Care Setting – a Case Report

Overview

The authors present a case of 41-year old male with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis who refused percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy and mechanical ventilation and decided for palliative care in a hospice. The paper describes palliative therapeutic approach that reduces patient suffering and enables him to die peacefully sharing his last days with his family.
