Overview

Introduced minireview deals with content and comment of European Federation Laboratory Medicine model of analytical quality also known as "milan model". Main characteristic of this EFLM model is strict preference of measurement uncertainty as tool for quality assessment. They are introduced and commented calculation measurement uncertainties values and also sources of partial (reference and calibrator) uncertainties. Database EFLM of biological variation and APS (analytical performance specification) uncertainties derived from there are described too. Consequences of External Quality Assessment programs with EFLM analytical quality model are also the part of this communication.
