Objective:
The aim of the study was to ascertain the occurrence of depressive symptoms in twogroups of gynaecological patients undergoing treatment in the spa of Frant. Lázně (Franzensbad).Design: A clinical study.Setting: Psychiatric Clinic and Sexuological Institute, Medical Faculty of the Charles Universityin Prague, Esplanade, Františkovy Lázně.Methods: The examination was carried out using a structured interview and the Zung’s test SDS(Self-rating depression scale).Results and Conclusion: In the group of 22 patients with a cancer of sex organs and of breast theoccurrence of depressive symptoms was found in 9 of them (41 %) and in the group of 22 womenafter hysterectomy and adnexectomy in 7 of them (about 32 %).Key words:
