Overview
Glomerular filtration rate is the most important parameter of kidney function. The completed standardisation of creatinine measurement is improving current clinical practice. Unfortunately, the situation did not change for patients with low muscle mass. Cystatin C determination is an alternative for this group of patients. DTPA dynamic renal scintigraphy is the most appropriate method to establish glomerular filtration currently available in clinical practice.
