Rocuronium bromid je nedepolarizující svalové relaxans steroidní struktury s rychlým nástupem účinku, selektivní afinitou k svalstvu hrtanua střední délkou trvání účinku. Poskytuje vhodnou alternativu suxamethonia k "rapid sequence" intubaci bez jeho nežádoucích účinkù. Autořiv prospektivní studii popisují intubační podmínky po podání rocuronium bromidu v dávce 0,6 mg/kg u 50 pacientů. Nástup účinku rocuronia jestandardní a srovnatelný se suxamethoniem. Oběhové parametry jsou ovlivnìny minimálně a ani u pacientů s renální insuficiencí nedochází k význam-nému prodloužení délky účinku.
