Overview

The contribution reviews the basic problems of hamstring injuries in sportsmen and sportswomen. The contribution pays particular attention to description of risk factors, symptoms of hamstring injuries and diagnostics of this disease, but also associated relationships ensuing from the results of imaging methods. Moreover, therapeutic opportunities are outlined and the problems related to the injury itself, manifestations and the causes of transferred pain including symptoms, by which these two conditions become manifest.

Key words:
hamstrings, ischiocrural muscles, muscular injuries, sport related injuries, regeneration, prevention, therapy
