Soft tissue sarcomas (STS) constitute a heterogeneous group of rare malignant tumors of mesenchymal cell origin and they may develop in any part of the body. They can form enormous masses in certain localizations. A case report of a young woman with locally advanced liposarcoma in the pelvic cavity is presented. This example emphasizes the significance of early diagnosis, as only radical surgery can be potentially curative in sarcoma therapy.
