Overview

We present a case of a female patient with early prosthetic valve endocarditis of bioprosthetic aortic valve, where positron emission tomography with 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (PET) had substantial impact on its diagnostics and indication of subsequent reoperation.

We discuss current role of PET in the management of infective endocarditis.

Key Words:

FDG, PET/CT, infective endocarditis
