Efficacy and safety of canagliflozin – a brief overview of the results of relevant clinical studies (meta-analyses and network analyses)

Overview

In selection of individual gliflozins, direct “head to head“ comparisons are missing and information are obtaining from actual observations, their meta-analyses and network analyses. This overview is focusing on relevant results of clinical studies related to canagliflozin. Canagliflozin proved except good glycemic control, low risk of hypoglycemia, decrease of body weight also significant cardiovascular and nephroprotective benefit in the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus comparable with other gliflozins.
