Overview

In this article, the authors approach the is sue of endometriosis of the urinary tract as a diagnostic unit that a urologist may encounter in his practice It is a form of deep infiltrating endometriosis and refers to the presence of ec topic endometrial tissue invading the bladder, ureter, kidney and urethra Symptomatology is expressed in 50‑70% of cases and includes cy clic hematuria, recurrent dysuria, pollakisuria, cystalgia or nephrolgia Therapy management is watchful waiting, hormonal or surgical The choice of the appropriate approach depends on the patient‘s preferences and on her age, symptomatology, anatomical conditions and the capabilities of the surgeon Furthermore, the authors present two recent case reports of patients with endometriosis of the bladder and ureter who underwent examination and opera tive treatment at the given department
