Overview
The biopsy plays a crucial role in dermatovenereology in the diagnostics of skin diseases. Biopsy pathway includes its indication, tissue sampling, transport and processing, clinicopathological correlation by the dermato-pathologist, interpretation of the histological finding and final clinicopathological correlation by the dermatovenereologist. The benefit of the biopsy is conditioned by the proper execution of the individual actions. The article presents a description of the individual steps of the biopsy process and their pitfalls.
