Overview
Ageing is an irreversible process that is by nature a part of an individual’sontogenesis. It is characterized by morphological and functional changes. In general, a changeof a structure results in a change of a function. Life consists of separate developmental stages, each of them having its distinctive structural and functional changes. This applies for oral cavitytoo.Teeth are often the last remains of a human body that can endure for ages and render usefulinformation about human beings, since they differ from most of body tissues in their limitedregeneration potential. There are only few exceptions, namely some animal species that have preserved the regenerationpotential of hard dental tissues.
