The prerequisite of the study is clinical experience with the pathogenetic processing of theterrorist attack of Sept. 11, 2001 in New York. On a series of analogue scales the authors assessedthe processing of the event in groups of probands (103 participants of the Czechoslovak psychotherapeuticConference in Trenčianské Teplice in 2001 and 86 students of the Medical and ArtsFaculty, Comenius University Bratislava). The assessed values were digitalized and evaluated bysimple statistical methods. From the results ensues a high variability of processing. The groupincludes a sub-group of probands for whom the event is a significant personal issue with whichthey have to cope. The sub-groups is a minority. Fears as regards health consequences are negligiblyrare. The relatively frequent ambivalent attitude to the event is worth mentioning. Differencesby occupation and gender are small and with the exception of one not significant.
