The authors report recent experience from the work of psychiatrists withdetained subjects and prisoners after 1989. They draw attention to alteredconditions of imprisonment, changes in the structure of patients, their con-temporary mental problems, their reactions to new forms of toxicomania.Some possibilities of their treatment and prevention are mentioned.
