Authors present clinical manifestation and therapeutic possibilities in posteriorscleritis,a disease,whichmay cause diagnostic dilemma.Theyalso giveanaccountof new examination methods which amend the diagnostic schema and safelyconfirm this diagnosis. In the article, a disease of a seventeen years old man ispresented, in which posterior scleritis of unknown etiology was diagnosed. Followingthe systemic corticosteroid treatment the visual acuity of the affected eyeimproved, subjective signs disappeared, and the clinical manifestation returnedto normal.
