The authors examined by transmission electron microscopy the surface of anintraocular posterior chamber lens explanted from the eye of a female patient onaccount of secondary glaucoma. They found a fibrous reaction in particular at thesite of contact of the supporting haptic with the sulcus of the ciliary body whichwas the cause of failure of conservative treatment
