The use of percutaneous transfer of bone marrow in the treatment of aseptic non-unions of long bones

Overview

AIM:
The aim of this article is to inform about an undemanding procedure we used repeatedly in the treatment of aseptic non-unions of long bones with the effort to influence the biological aspects of healing.

METHOD:
The principle of the method consists in aspiration of punctuate from the ala ossis ilium, containing mesenchymal stem cells and its application into the area of the false joint with the aim to stimulate the process of bone healing in the area.

CONCLUSION:
According to our experience, this procedure may contribute to the healing process of the bone defects.
