Overview
Poor results of inter - and intraexaminer reliability of movement palpation for sacroiliac movementrestriction are quoted from the literature. This is followed by an analysis of the shortcomings of thecurrent diagnostic techniques.In 64 patients a new sign was tested and first compared with a set of 3 – 4 routinely applied testswhich confirmed its reliability. The interexaminer reliability was tested in 33 patients (66 s.i. joints)and found to agree in 82 % (kapa = 0.68).
