Overview
Štrajtová I, Kuldan R. Partial amputation of penis as a treatment for verrucous carcinoma.
In this case report, we present a 72-year-old man examined in our workplace for phimosis with an incidental finding of penile verrucous carcinoma. This rare type of carcinoma is characterized primarily by exophytic and destructive growth and the risk of local recurrence after insufficient surgical removal of the lesion. After considering the degree of penile involvement and with respect to non-compliance of the patient, including his preferences, we chose partial penile amputation as the method of choice. After the surgery, the wound healed, and the patient is subsequently without recurrence of the tumor.
