Overview
Patients with a history of strokes frequently develop depressions. Depressions in these patients(post-stroke depression /PSD/) however remain unrecognized and untreated. Their significance inrelation to neurological recovery is underrated in routine clinical practice. The author offers anoverview of the incidence, etiopathogenesis, diagnostics and therapy of post-stroke depression.
