Overview

The article deals with comparison and, especially, differences in assessing persons of different age categories for acknowledging the degree of dependence and granting the allowance for care. Attention was paid to statistical data of the number of assessed (handicapped) individuals in respective age categories as well as the spectrum of their diagnoses. These diagnoses may result in long-term unfavorable health state and their functional impact may require the care taken by another person.
